Free Will

It is said " Man proposes, God disposes".  I believe yet we should not give up the power to choose for the right action or right thoughts to put into action. In fact the destiny may count as beyond our reach to control but we may decide upon the steps we need to take wherever we are assigned to reach.

As a matter of fact, every individual has a version of his own to perceive things or any situation with respect to his intellect, character, strength  or wisdom. So obviously the person is to think, act according to his capacity and in most situations in spite of  a given code of conduct, every individual is unique in terms of their behavior or reaction to a particular incident. It is but natural for every individual to have  a new  way rather come up with better ways to deal with that situation.  Freedom of choice gives way to new discoveries or inventions. Free imagination is the cradle of creation.  If we are supposed to walk on the path as predestined journey without the intervention of letting our unique qualities to flourish, then it will not only dampen our spirit of growth but also we will be more dead than alive. Simply following the rules designed by others will be the call of duty-An act of slavery than bravery!

On one hand we realize that will power is potent for individual growth and on the other that ultimately it is  destiny which decides our destination  we reach at the end. How dramatic it appears when both sides of  realities-  are in sharp contrast to each other besides being the two sides of the same coin. It means either of them can be truthful at a time. But both the realities co exist in spite of apart from each other. To exemplify further- we have the free will to some extent to decide upon certain things in our life subject to intervention of destiny which has the final call for things to happen its way. So free will is not entirely free but subjugated to conditional approval of destiny.

Our context of discussion of  Free Will is in terms of actions where we do action to our best capacity without fault at our end, in the sense, we don't lack any enthusiasm to complete our action. Neither is there any sense of lethargy/dishonest intent or indifference to action.

The question is how significant the role of power of Will  remains after this revelation of destiny's power in our life. Definitely not very pleasant knowing that when it is ultimately pre destined win or loss then why to play the game. Here the crucial point arrives, game is after all for fun. The spirit of game is enjoyment, to have action, to show our skills, to have magic, to create magic! Then what is going to happen at the end hardly matters, as far as we know we are playing the game with full spirit of playing for the sake of fun of game, not by the result. This is what is also preached in Bhagwad Gita. You do your part, rest leave on God. Your intention of  Action should not be dependable on the fruits of action.

Coming back to our action motives, it should not be limited by the outcome of it because the result is not ultimately in our hands, it may be influenced by lot more other factors beyond our control. We may say the result is in our hand to most extent, but there is always a gap for the destiny to play its role. What is in our hand is mostly how we do the action, with what intensity and how much we are able to bring in satisfaction to our heart and soul. Yes, this much is very much in our hands. Its just like there are some organs in our body which functions involuntarily without interference of our conscious efforts like heart beat, blood circulation, lungs breathing and so on. But our limbs are regulated by motor actions very much in our control and at our disposal. While the whole body system are all interconnected and somehow we too are able to have a control on our internal organ's health by maintaining a good lifestyle, exercise, diet and good sleep. Everything in this world is interdependent. So is our existence in this cosmos. Each of us has a role to play and the better way we are able to perform in the highest form, the most we are able to contribute to the well being of this Universe inclusive us. None of our efforts go waste. There may be no apparent recognition in the beginning of our humble attempts of giving our best, but it certainly goes a long way to remain embedded in the domain of energy reflected back in finest of expressions remotely identifiable!

In conclusion, it can be stated that each of us has been given equal opportunity and the capacity to bring in the best of us through course of action we choose to take during our lifetime. The intent of living to the fullest becomes eternal by the feeling of fullness throughout the journey while the outcome at the end of life may seem  of little importance as is judged by others in the world. Success is something the world counts as the benchmark to achieve while an individual experience of contentment, love, peace, inner  happiness is the ultimate way to fulfillment.
