Our First Meet

It was not long when I opened myself to the realm of unknown, that my destiny took an acute turn.
    I was just in my early twenties when I first met my life partner. I hardly noticed him in our first meet as it was a formal official introduction to my colleagues in the office I was deployed. While I was learning new things apart from my work,   I got to know many people & in no time I started admiring them for their support and care. Among them, one striking personality caught my attention with the kind of demeanor he exhibited specially his vigor, chivalry, cheer, mischief & carefree splendor! I often wondered how one person can make oneself available for help to everyone around him be it his juniors, class IV employees, ladies, (both elderly & younger ones) and also his senior officers were no exception to approach him for valuable advice. It had raised my respect for him more than just liking him.
He had a flair in picking up new languages, so   that he could connect to people in their native languages be it Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali. He himself being a Malayalee hailing from Kerala picked up Hindi very fast, once he shifted to Delhi for work.    I being a Bengali, his linguistic aptitude was adding to my evaluation of his knowledge & capabilities.  
    But his charm lied in how he created fun filled atmosphere with his witty one liners &  mischief. To add to it, his singing trait was a cherry on the cake. It was in one such gathering at tea break, I remember that he started singing and everyone was in awe of his melody. One of our Bengali Madam teased him that he is to get a Bengali bride that threw everyone into laughter except me. I being the only Bengali girl present there, felt little bit awkward rather embarrassed. I decided   to set it right at the very beginning of possible future prospects if any. And coincidentally in the next week I had a special duty at South block on a weekend. I got a surprise call on the phone from him with whom I was yet to open up as a close friend and our friendship can be considered in general not special so far. He expressed his wish to meet me in person. I felt this is my chance to clear all his fancies if any, about proceeding to get into any relationship. But what I thought as my wisdom not to entangle into unnecessary trouble, turned out to be completely opposite, beyond my imagination.
    I agreed to meet him after duty and in few hours I was strolling with him in lush lawns near India Gate. This was the first time we were meeting as a person other than just colleagues. More than outward meeting, it was inner connection that we both felt & experienced higher dimensions to life.  The very thought of clearing doubts vanished from my mind   & I was unaware of how time flew. I knew he is the one I have been waiting for… and our journey started from that very day, we are living it together & I am sure it will continue till many lifetimes.
