The Common Thread

Today morning, when I ws looking at my altar while worshipping, I noticed I have collection of  different idols of Divinities in different sizes & of different material
 - some metal, some ceramic , some wooden. By Divinities I mean Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, Lord Jagannath, Sai Baba, God essentially Saraswati or Lord Ganesha.

It is obvious that size does not matter here as regards to how much significance each of these Divinities stand for me. Nor does it has any relevance as to what material the idols are made of.

Suddenly this revelation dawned on me that sometimes we do make this discrimination based on status or wealth amongst mortal beings. By status I mean how successful one person is in terms of career, family or relationships, education, fame, wealth, fitness, beauty, virtues etc. Is  it not a contrast to our judgemental attribute. Is it fair enough for us to discriminate on first hand.

Yes discrimination allows us to prioritize or select our company to some extent. However, being judgemental is something  we need to rethink. It is that bar we are categorising people and becoming biased.

All human are born pure. The very fact that all infants are same in their instincts at birth. They are devoid of impure traits that humans pick up in the process of growing up.

No matter how a person grows up into, basically the person remains same in his essence of being human. For that matter, hard core criminals are labeled to have lost humanity.

The core issue in this discussion is that though each of us is unique individually there is a common thread running through us making us same. That universal connection is Divinity. We all are pure at soul level and have the same potential to blossom in life. What counts is with how much care and attention we honor our being as Human.
